Traffic Violation Fees

PAYMENTS ARE TO BE PAID IN THE CLERKS OFFICE

PAY BY CASHIER'S CHECK OR MONEY ORDER
  • You may pay by cash in person (DO NOT MAIL CASH)
  • CREDIT CARDS OR PERSONAL CHECKS are not accepted!
  • NO PARTIAL PAYMENTS
 
WHEN MAILING A COPY. 
You will need to mark the appropriate box (guilty or nolo contendre), sign and date your copy of the citation. 
If you have lost your copy, please click on the link to the left for the INFRACTION PLEA AGREEMENT. 
If our office does not receive a signed and dated plea to your charge, we cannot process your payment.

INFRACTION VIOLATIONS         -   $115.00
+
 *Excluding SPEEDING IN WORKSITE, minimum $440.00+

CDL SEATBELT VIOLATIONS        -   $115.00+
 
 
ADULT SEAT BELT VIOLATIONS   -   $ 25.00

+A $25.00 Late Fee may be applied if payment is not received by the court date listed on your citation

 


VIOLATIONS THAT REQUIRE A COURT APPEARANCE
:
  • Driving While Suspended
  • No CDL Endorsement
  • Speed Contest
  • Failure To Maintain Financial Responsibility
  • Operating Without Proof Of Financial Responsibility
  • Child Restraint
  • Operator Never Licensed
  • ALL MISDEMEANOR CHARGES
 
 

INFRACTION DEFERRAL PROGRAM
  • The Vigo County Prosecutor's Office offers an Infraction Deferral Program to eligible individuals. 
  • You will be mailed an agreement form to the address listed on your citation in approximately three (3) weeks. 
  • The following are not eligible for this program
 *CDL endorsement holders
         
 *Anyone with a serious conviction on their driving record that include:
                        DUI, DWI, OWI, Passing A School Bus Loading/Unloading, Reckless Driving, 
                        Leaving The Scene Of An Accident (Partial List Of Convictions)
 
*Anyone who has participated in this program within the last three (3) years
