What are the rules for fishing in the Dobbs Park Pond?

Back to FAQ

You may fish during regular park hours with a valid fishing license. The laws and limits set in place by the state of Indiana still apply. For a detailed list of the fishing regulations for Indiana, pick up a Recreation and Fishing Guide at the Nature Center, or visit IDNR.

The only exception occurs prior to our Annual Kids' Fishing Rodeo. We hold this event the second Saturday in June each year, and an average of 200 children ages 2-15 participate. We prohibit fishing for approximately two weeks prior to the Rodeo, to make sure the fish are good and eager!
