General Information
The fleet services unit is responsible for purchasing and
maintaining the fleet of vehicles operated by the Terre Haute Police
Department.
This unit is overseen by a fleet manager who is responsible for the
purchase, maintenance and assignment of all vehicles and vehicle
related items.
The Terre Haute Police Department currently assigns vehicles under a
community policing premise of one officer/one car. This take home car
program increases public safety by placing cars within our community.
This program has proven to reduce crime and increase response times. In
addition, by having cars assigned to individual officers, it reduces
maintenance cost and extends the overall service life of our fleet.
