Tree Plantings in Two Northside Parks this Saturday

The City of Terre Haute will be planting 110 trees in the new Maple Avenue Nature Park, located at 500 Maple Ave.  The trees are being made available through a Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Community and Urban Forestry grant, with support from TREES Inc.  Mayor Duke Bennett will be working with volunteers from 8:30am until 12:00pm on Saturday, March 24, 2012 to get the trees planted.

The second planting will take place on the same day in Collett Park.  The Terre Haute Evening Lions Club is participating in the “Planting a Million Trees” project.  Members of the Lions Club will join Mayor Bennett and the Terre Haute Parks and Recreation Department at 12:30pm in Collett Park.
