Department: Street                                   

Position: Administrative Assistant                                             

Position Responsibilities (include but are not limited to the following):

  • Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Accounts Reconciliation
  • Payroll
  • Main Office Reception
  • Works with City Controller’s Office to ensure all claims are paid in a timely manner and all audits are conducted effectively and efficiently
  • Maintains Q-Alert System for Department
  • Cleans and maintains Main Office area and Office Restroom
  • Sorts and distributes incoming mail
  • Maintains Time Off Calendar for the Department
  • Assists with uniform management
  • Assists with memorandums and file management
  • Works with Human Resources to ensure all worker’s compensation claims are filed in an accurate and timely manner
  • Maintains employee records

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Must be highly organized
  • Must work well with other employees
  • Must work well with the public and other municipal departments
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Works and Excel
  • Must have a working knowledge of all office related electronics (Fax, Phone, Computer, Copier, etc.) 

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/Training: High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Experience:  3 years of experience working in an office setting preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
  • Must be able to walk up and down stairs
