Position Responsibilities (include but are not limited to the following):

  • Responsible for coordinating driver assignments and scheduling.
  • Responsible for overseeing transit operations.
  • Directs and influences Street Driver employees.
  • Responsible for overseeing garage operations.
  • Generates garage reports.
  • Places all purchase orders.
  • Trains new drivers and coordinates training for compliance regulations.
  • Ensures fare boxes are counted daily.
  • Dispatches incoming calls and communicates instructions to drivers.
  • Answers incoming calls and greets customers.

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Considerable knowledge of policies, procedures, and practices that impact the department.
  • Considerable ability to lead and influence others.
  • Working ability to interpret laws and regulations.
  • Considerable knowledge of FTA regulations.
  • Considerable ability to work well with others, and to assist others cooperatively and courteously.
  • Considerable knowledge of DOT regulations.
  • Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Considerable ability to answer multiply phone lines.
  • Working ability to prioritize assignments.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Working ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Detailed oriented.

 Minimum Qualifications:

Education/Training: High School Diploma or Equivalent. 

Experience: 2 years clerical experience.  2 years management experience. Proficient with Microsoft Office and Outlook.

Working Conditions: Office setting.

Special Requirements:  Must own a vehicle. 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects and use a keyboard.
  • Ability to see within normal parameters.
  • Ability to hear within normal range.
  • Ability to extend hand(s) and arm(s).
