Sewage Billing News: Payment Arrangements for Seriously Delinquent Accounts

August 21, 2020

The disconnect moratorium has expired and accounts that have been identified as seriously delinquent are encouraged to enter into a repayment agreement

As of August 14th, 2020, the moratorium preventing utility shut offs has expired. Approximately 1000 accounts which have been identified as having a disconnect eligible amount greater than $125.00 should have received a letter in the mail with a payment agreement offer. This will be offered for a limited time before the Sewage Billing Department resumes disconnecting water service for non pay of sewer fees. Courtesy calls are also being made on the departments behalf to those accounts encouraging participation. If you believe you have a seriously delinquent amount that should have been included in this agreement offer, please call the local office at (812) 244-2343 and ask about the option to enter a payment arrangement. Arrangements must be signed and returned by the due date on the letter. To return the agreement, send to the mailing address indicated on the letter or use the drop box at the rear of City Hall. The Sewage Billing Office remains closed to the public at this time.
