Main Lift Station (MLS)

  • Construct a new 96 million gallons a day lift station to replace the existing MLS originally constructed in the 1960’s
  • Includes the closure of 2 Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) outlet points, installation of force mains, and redirection of the 84-inch Turner St. sewer
  • Allows for greater use of existing High Rate Clarification (HRC) facilities to provide primary treatment to more wastewater prior to discharge to the Wabash River
  • Utilizes a secant pile wall construction system to avoid contaminated ground water
  • Estimated cost is $76.8 million
  • Planned Bid Date- The bids were opened at the 8/15/2023 regular meeting of the Terre Haute Board of Sanitary Commissioners. The apparent low bidder was Thieneman Construction, Inc with a bid of $89,417,000.00.  The bids are currently under review.
