Highland Lawn Chapel

     Each of the crypts is designed to hold one coffin.  This is the inside of a crypt:

     The coffins roll in and out of the crypts on wooden rollers as seen below:

     The woodwork in the crypt room has bats carved at the doors.

     A spiral staircase leads from the main room of the chapel down to the basement and up to the top of the spire (seen at the right of the entrance). 

 

     The chapel basement features rounded brick architecture, which is very rare today.
