Employees may not keep your cell phone while you are in court

APPEARING IN TERRE HAUTE CITY COURT

  • Hats may not be worn during a court hearing.
  • Please dress appropriately
  • Cell phones MUST be turned off during a court hearing.
  • Misdemeanor (CM) and Infraction (IF) court hearings are at 8:30am Monday through Friday excluding holidays.
  • Ordinance (OV) court hearings are the first and second Tuesday of each month at 10:30am excluding holidays.
  • You should make arrangements for child care prior to your court hearing.
  • If you fail to appear for a Misdemeanor court hearing (CM), a warrant for your arrest may be issued.
  • If you fail to appear for an Infraction court hearing (IF) or an Ordinance court hearing (OV), a default judgment may be entered against you.
  • If you arrive AFTER court begins, you may not be allowed in the courtroom and you may miss your court hearing.
