The Terre Haute Fire Department (THFD) is a full-service fire department we specialize in fire suppression, prevention, rescue, hazardous materials and advanced medical service for the City of Terre Haute.

The Terre Haute Fire Department is currently under the leadership of Fire Chief Darrick Scott.

The THFD was established around 1855 as a volunteer fire department, in 1894 it became a fully paid department consisting of 50 members of the Terre Haute Fire Department. The THFD now consist of approximately 150 Firefighters , 8 Fire Stations, 6 Engines, 2 Trucks, 1 Tanker, 1 Support/Rescue Unit, 3 full time Paramedic Ambulances and a Hazardous Materials Special Response Team.
