Reports to: Director of Recreation

Pay Rate:

• $15.00 per hour
• Tuesday and Thursday, 10:00am-12:00pm
• Summer Swim Lessons run on Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 6 – Aug 3, 2023.

Position Responsibilities:

• Teach swim lessons to small groups of 2-6 students
• Demonstrate appropriate swim and water safety skills
• Enforce Swim Lessons and Pool rules
• Maintain a safe learning environment
• Record student progress
• Correspond with guardians of swim lesson participants
• Perform cleaning duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

• Experience working with children
• Front Crawl, Backstroke, and Breaststroke stroke proficiency
• Professionalism
• Ability to effectively communicate in a positive manner with the public
• Ability to control small groups of children calmly and effectively
• Must be at least 16 years old

Preferred Qualifications:

• Valid CPR certification
• Valid American Red Cross WSI certification

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in a wide variety of environment, including extreme heat and cold
• Ability to stand for long period of time
• Ability  to push, pull, carry, and lift a minimum of 25 pounds
