A Groundbreaking ceremony for the historical 99 year old Rea Park clubhouse was held this morning. After 10 years of community planning, the City owned historical Rea Park will be undergoing phase 1 of 3 for the complete renovation of Rea Park. The clubhouse is one of Terre Haute’s great historic buildings within our community, originally built in 1925.

"Thank you to the many partners that collaborated on this project. The Wabash River RDA and Indiana Economic Development Corporation helped provide funding to the designs and planning of a brand new Rea Park. The Friends of Rea Park is a non-profit that has been working hard on this project for over a decade. Finally after years of work and dozens of meetings, the entire group was able to celebrate a new chapter. The Terre Haute City Council recently voted to approve the appropriation of ARPA dollars to help this project get through to the finish line. The city plans to make Rea Park much more than a golf course but a true community park. A new chapter for our city's parks department!"
