1st Street and Oak Street on the eastern bank of the Wabash River

FACTS 

  • 53 ACRES
  • Originally designed by the American landscape architect George Kessler in the early 1900s
  • Current Amenities – outdoor amphitheater, playground, dog park, multi-use athletic fields and trails, sculptural garden, and structural facilities such as the Chauncey Rose Memorial, the Paul Dresser House, the Parks Department, and the YMCA

  • Fairbanks Park is vital public amenities of the city of Terre haute due to rich historical values and park location
  • The purpose of the Fairbanks park master plan is to create unified vision and strategic direction for the future. 6 key focus areas are identified as major components of reshaping the park –
